It embodies the essence of traditional Chinese culture and national spirit through sports and is a crucial component of socialist advanced culture. It serves as a powerful rallying force that invigorates and unites the Chinese people in the present age. China’s sportsmanship is characterized by its strong contemporary relevance. As China embarks on a new journey toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the construction of a sports power, the new era has expanded the connotation of China’s sportsmanship. President Xi Jinping’s significant discourses have enriched the ideological dimensions of China’s sportsmanship in the new era, while the drive to build a sports power has enhanced its practical meaning. Additionally, recent academic advancements have added depth to its theoretical underpinnings. “Striving continuously to strengthen oneself and the pursuit of excellence,” as the newly articulated core of China’s sportsmanship, its contemporary value is profoundly manifested in its role in gathering the spiritual strength for national rejuvenation, exemplifying the spirit of determination and resilience, providing a driving force for building a sports power, and strengthening the spiritual foundation for the high-quality development of sports.
