Abstract:
The development of embedded fitness space is a crucial factor in promoting urban transformation and renewal. It serves as an innovative platform to meet the fitness needs of citizens close to their homes and a key component in building a higher level public service system for mass fitness. This study examines the development of embedded fitness space from the perspective of urban renewal, utilizing methods such as literature investigation, logical analysis, and comparative study. The study concludes that the development of embedded fitness space is an important engine for enhancing urban vitality, a strong support for promoting complete community construction, and a key lever for optimizing the layout of fitness spaces. Important experiences from developed countries in creating embedded fitness spaces include improving top-level design to guide rational layout, focusing on citizen demand for higher space utilization effectiveness, promoting multi-stakeholder collaboration for continuous development, and cultivating thematic culture to boost vitality. Therefore, to promote the development of embedded fitness space within the context of urban renewal, it is necessary to facilitate both the transformation of existing facilities and the incremental improvement, bridging the gap to provide fitness services to residents at the “last mile”. This involves strengthening precise supply and personalized services tailored to mass needs; stimulating the vitality of stakeholders and market potential by exploring innovative models of operation and management; emphasizing cultural inheritance and theme creation to reshape the “spiritual aspect” of urban spaces.
