Abstract:
Sports consumption is an essential component promoting economic development and fulfilling people’s desire for a better quality of life. This study focuses on the concept of boosting sports consumption vitality and explores the action logic and key driving forces behind it through exploratory case studies and content analysis of the work reports from 40 sports consumption pilot cities and relevant data. The findings reveal that the action logic for boosting the vitality of sports consumption can be categorized into actions of contactor exploration, environment creation, and ecosystem building, which respectively belong to the micro, meso, and macro levels, and possess the feature of bidirectional interaction among the action levels. The digital driving force and policy driving force undertake the functions of impetus, guidance, and guarantee in the actions of boosting sports consumption vitality, and the driving forces can generate differentiated synergy, becoming the “composite catalyst” for the enhancement actions. Based on these findings, it is proposed that emphasis should be placed on collaborative actions, and multiple measures should be adopted to boost the vitality of sports consumption in a solid manner; the demand foundation should be consolidated, and the dissemination of sports culture and the cultivation of sports habits should be strengthened; digital tools should be utilized skillfully to reasonably control the “addition and subtraction” of sports information; and “granting policy authority and guiding the market through policies”, and policy and mechanism should be employed adeptly to lead the high-quality development of sports consumption.
