Low-altitude Economy Empowering the Development of New Quality Productive Forces in Sports:Key Domains, Existing Constraints, and Pathways to Overcoming Challenges

Abstract: The vigorous development of the low-altitude economy constitutes an essential response to the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, while serving as a pivotal driver for cultivating new quality productive forces and advancing high-quality development in the sports industry. Through literature research and logical analysis, this study examines the key domains, existing constraints, and pathways to overcoming challenges related to the role of the low-altitude economy in empowering new quality productive forces in sports. Findings indicate that the empowering effect of the low-altitude economy on sports-related productive forces is still in a “pilot exploration phase”, with applications mainly emerging in new industries, business models, and scenarios arising from the integration of low-altitude technologies and the sports industry. Within this context, the low-altitude economy can drive progress of new quality productive forces in sports through innovation stimulation and quality enhancement, showing promising developmental momentum across five industrial sectors: sports equipment manufacturing, sports events and performances, sports tourism services, fitness and leisure sports, and sports education and training. However, several challenges remain, including outdated policies and regulations, a underdeveloped industrial chain, a shortage of specialized talent, and insufficient infrastructure. To address these issues, it is recommended to improve the policy and regulatory framework to provide stronger support; modernize the industrial chain to unlock greater value potential; enhance the training of professionals to build a solid talent foundation; and accelerate infrastructure development to ensure material support for sustained growth.
