Abstract:
In the new era, as China advances national modernization and rejuvenation through a uniquely Chinese path, rigorous research into sports development strategies performs a crucial function in facilitating high-quality sports development and achieving the targeted goal of building a leading sports power. Navigating the complex and volatile internal and external environment of contemporary Chinese sports undertakings, this article systematically expounds the theoretical perspectives and analytical framework underpinning China’s sports development strategy. It further identifies key research priorities for China’s sports strategic studies across four domains: macro sports governance, mass sports, elite competitive sports, and sports industry. The present study contends that strategic research on sports development in the new era should uphold a global vision, holistic thinking, and long-term perspective. Grounded in a research framework centered on strategic analysis, formulation, implementation and evaluation, this study focuses on the key links and core issues concerning sports reform and development. By conducting forward-looking reflections and holistic planning on the challenges facing China’s sports sector over the next five to ten years, this study aims to provide solid and profound strategic support for comprehensively building a leading sports power.
