Abstract: Sino-west conflict on sport culture is a long-term discussion about whether west sports or domestic physical activities should dominate the path of Chinese sport development occurred during the 1920’s and 1930’s.As a reflection of the social transformation into modernity in China in terms of sports,this conflict once generated profound impact on modern development of Chinese sports.This paper,based on newly found documents,tries to draw a rationally theoretical interpretation of the event through inspection in details,which will in turn be extended in meaning to the discussion of its present significance in current context,and serve as an empirical tool for solving the predicament faced by domestic sports development nowadays.
