Abstract: Methodssuch as literature survey,interviews with experts and induction have been adopted to look at the different spelling forms of Tai Ji Quan appeared in books of foreign language editions published at home and abroad.This study suggests that it is appropriate to use the pinyin version Tai Ji Quan combined with Tai Chi Chuan,the spelling system of Wade-Giles that is better recognized in overseas countries.The study also suggests that whether the translation version of Tai Ji Quan is Wade-Giles of historical continuity or pinyin that announces Chinese local culture,they both feature a cultural integration of Chinese and Western cultures instead of conflicts rising from differences of the two cultures.The discussion and research on the translation of Tai Ji Quan aim to promote dialogue and exchange between Chinese and Western cultures,enabling both parts to learn from each other and jointly improve the cultural character of one's own.
