Abstract: This paper adopts literature review,field work and logic analysis method to research on the change process and the inheritance foundation of the national traditional sports "bull bucket" movement in Guangxi Hongshui river basin.The results of the study show that "bull bucket" movement develops through three stages:the horn knife,bull fighting force,the bull bucket.The "horn knife" acts as the local soldiers' effective weapon to against the enemy;"bull fighting force" is the soldier training method combining central plains culture and local martial arts;"Bull bucket" is a locally folk activity which derived from bull fighting force during the "bureaucratization of native officers" process.The main vector of the "Bull bucket" movement is the "Yanwu festival".The two culture core pillar of the inheritance of "bull bucket" movement lie in two aspects:the folkway of highlighting martial art and guts;the worship of Zhuang cattle.
