Abstract: By using the principle of sociology and history,from the perspective of class and social control,this paper makes analysis on British football evolution course in the 14th century to the early 20th century.The result shows that medieval feudal ruling class will ban the civilians in football as one of strengthening the means of social control,and make long-term suppression on the civilian leisure culture.In the middle of the nineteenth century,along with the birth of modern football,the middle class master and dominate the football culture and make football culture sublimation.However,in the eighteen eighties,football again evolves the leisure culture of working class.This time,the class contradiction and class struggle appeared.
