Abstract: This paper analyzed the literature about the development history of global and domestic sports cities and the evaluation system.The present status and feature of sports cities development were also studied.The sports city evaluation systems have gone through a comparative, dynamic and comprehensive developing process.Currently, there are mainly three schools of views in evaluating sports cities, including comparing, ranking, and branding.On the basis of related findings, the study used interview methods to construct the evaluation index for sports cities with Chinese characteristics.The index system consisted four level-2indicators and 34specific indicators, which laid a foundation for further exploration of the mechanism.
