Abstract: According to analysis of the concept and characteristics of sport demand, this paper expected to investigate the effects of different factors such as age, income, sports skill, leisure time, wage rate and price, on sport demand and consumption within economic models, which are generally based on Becker's household production function.Furthermore, this paper, taking Beijing as an example, collects data relative to residents' sport demand and consumption, and verifies the predictions in the theoretical analysis through econometric test with Heckman model, thereby, provides some policy suggestions to promote sport demand and increases sport consumption.
