Abstract: Self-reliance in high-level sports science and technology in the new era is the prerequisite and guarantee of establishing a sports power. The researcher studied the current development of sciences and technologies at home and abroad, organized and analyzed the national laws and regulations and departmental policies issued in recent years. Highlighting the necessity and urgency of our country's self-reliance in high-level sports sciences and technologies in the new era, the researcher proposed the path to achieve such self-reliance by the following eight ways: structuring a new system for mobilizing resources nationwide; determining the national strategic tasks of sports; improving strength in national strategic sports sciences and technologies; implementing key sports sci-tech programs; innovating the sports sci-tech management mechanism; improving the sports sci-tech personnel system;building sports sci-tech demonstration projects; and enhancing the opening-up of sports science and technology.
