Abstract: The research selected a field investigation on several typical cases of folk sports participating and rural governance,analyzed the contemporary dilemma of China's folk sports culture and rural governance from the perspectives of sociology,anthropology and folklore, empirical studies on linkage mechanism between folk sports and rural governance. Eventually, according to the case, summed up the experience in the field of common heritage of enlightenment and modernity folk Sports. The study found that embedding village governance is the only way to inherit the modernity of folk sports. It can not only gives new cultural meaning to folk sports, but also inject the“blood”of folk sports into the“pulse”of the times. In turn, it helps to form a“multiple cogovernances”rural governance pattern, and provides endogenous power for realizing rural“effective governance”. From the survey results, excellent folk sports culture has important functions and values to enhance the comprehensive capacity of modern rural governance and innovate the social governance system.
