Abstract
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has delivered a series of profound and comprehensive statements on China’s Sportsmanship, which have become an integral part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This study, utilizing literature research method, logical reasoning and systematical exploration, offers a deep and systematic interpretation of these discourses through three dimensions: Foundational basis, core principles, and planning in action. The goal is to further develop the theoretical framework of China’s Sportsmanship. The study concludes that Xi Jinping’s cultural philosophy provides the theoretical logic behind these discourses, the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation serves as their historical foundation, the contemporary spiritual and cultural aspirations of the people constitute the modern-day necessity, and the accumulated experiences of building a sports power offer a practical foundation. Xi’s key discourses encapsulate theories on the wealth, identity, culture, power, and lineage of China’s Sportsmanship, reflecting values such as upholding tradition and innovation, strengthening cultural confidence, advancing national development, empowering spiritual strength, and promoting Chinese culture. Furthermore, these discourses lay out a strategic blueprint for promoting China’s Sportsmanship and fostering the prosperity of Chinese sports culture.
