Physical Activity Assessment Using Accelerometers among Children

As an objective measure of physical activity,accelerometer is unobtrusive and doesn't rely on participants' recall and cognitive ability.Therefore,it has been widely used for assessing physical activity among children in recent years.However,few studies,if any,have focused on standardized application of this instrument,for instance,choice of accelerometers,epoch length,wearing position,wearing days and data processing.The purpose of this narrative review is to summarize previous findings on these aspects with specific focus on children and provide practical recommendations for researchers.
