    Several Prejudice of Academic Circles’ Cognition on Buddhist Martial Arts

    • This paper presents several biases of the current academic circles about Buddhist martial arts, and through the method of literature review, points out that there is not only Shaolin martial arts in Buddhism martial arts, analyzes the reason why Buddhism and Wushu fusion could be divided into the intrinsic causes and external causes, explains another perspective and other views about Shaolin exotic.Buddhist martial arts is a broad and historical the concept, not just be defined in the Shaolin a place, or a historical stage.Essential reason of Buddhism and Wushu association is the unique attitude of Buddhism culture to the body and the life.The protection of property does not belong to the category of culture of Buddhism, it is just the external derived reasons.It is the historical trend for Shaolin to draw lessons from Taoist culture, the Bushido culture.Studied from the perspective view of Buddhist martial arts, this kind of Shaolin exotic culture contains certain value in a certain historical period.
