The Merits and Demerits of Chinese-English and English-Chinese Dictionary Translation on the Wushu

In view of the existing problems in bilingual Wushu dictionaries and the translation of Wushu terms,this paper analyzes the merits and demerits of the translation of Chinese-English and English-Chinese Wushu dictionary,based on Nida's equivalent translation theory.The result shows that on the one hand,expressiveness,acceptability and localization of the term translation make the dictionary scientific,accurate and practical,while on the other hand,there has defects such as inexact translation of some pictographic Wushu words,lack of notation for synonymous and figurative sense,and misinterpretation resulting from misused Chinese characters.
