Abstract
In present study,Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and CPQ,16PF were conducted to investigate 403 Beijing teenagers(primary school:62 males,76 females,age=12.23±0.982;junior school:64 males,93 females,age=14.58±0.663;senior school:60 males,48 females,age=17.78±0.828) for the relation among exercise and development of their self-esteem and personality.Results:1)Primary school exercisers' self-esteem were found significantly higher than their non-exercise peers,while non-significant differences were observed between junior and the senior school students;2)Some personality traits were found difference between different age groups of exercisers and non-exercisers,while exercisers' personality traits were more positive.Conclusion:1)Exercise might be an important influencing factor on primary school students' self-esteem;2)Exercise possibly has positive effect on teenagers' personality traits;3)Teenagers' psychological development characteristics influence their beneficial effect of physical exercise on self-esteem and personality traits.
