Difficulties and Solutions of Professional Development in Sports for People with Disability under the Perspective of People’s Livelihood

The research has shown that among the factors that influence the sport participation in people with disabilities, the lack of professional support and service needs to be addressed immediately.Using literature review and cross-sectional surveys, the current research comprehensively examined the status of professional development in sports for people with disabilities. The results showed that the system of professional development among universities was still immature in terms of professional construction, objective of training, and course design.The high dropout rate of the professionals was another big issue.It was suggested that the professional development in sports for people with disabilities should base on the condition that the practice is widely supported by policies and laws.Inter-sectors collaborations should be established as well as pre-service and in-service training should be carried out to create an obstaclefree environment for sport participation in people with disabilities.
