Postmodernism and Sports Research in China

As a social trend of thought,postmodernism had an important impact on humanities and social sciences.On the basis of postmodernism and its tendency of the basic theory,this paper discussed the relationship between the postmodernism and sports research as well as the value of sports research in China.The result shows that the present stage of the sports research has already existed the elements of postmodernism.The postmodernism in social situation,philosophy guide and research methods respectively,provided the background of sports,guiding ideas and new methodologies.Furthermore,a new thinking of the problem of " the essence of sport",postmodernism society signs, " people-oriented" concept of sports development and research status of post-modernism provided the possibility to study in the further development of sports in China.On this basis,this paper discussed how modernism applied sport research in China from the premise of thinking,research subject and methodology.The main purpose is to provide the reference of postmodern studies in the field of sports in China,and contribute to the comprehensive development of sports research in China.
