National Salvation and Sports’ Transformation:A Historical Survey on the Development of Sports in China during the Anti-Japanese War Period

Using the literature review and the overall historical perspective,this paper combed the historical clue of Chinese sports development comprehensively from the vertical view of two-stages of regional and general Anti-Japanese War,the horizontal view of three parts of the Guo-Min-Dang area,the Chinese Communist Party area and the enemy-occupied area.This paper found out that Chinese sports had four characteristics,such as the participation in a large scale,the various forms,the strong military feature and the focus on the exploration of sports theory.On the basis of objective discussion on sports development in China during the AntiJapanese War,this paper clarified the historical position of sports development in the process of Chinese sports modernization this period and the basis of material,regulation,concept and theory for new China sport.
