The Present Situation,Bottleneck and Breakthrough of Sports Insurance in China

The experience of developed countries proves that sports insurance plays an important role in securing sports risk and promoting the development of sports industry, but the immaturity of our sports insurance legal system, coexistence of the centralized organization management and decentralized grass-roots organizations, imperfect insurance market environment as well as the sports insurance actuarial technology restrict the development of our sports insurance market.Therefore, this paper puts forward some suggestions of optimizing our sports insurance system.First of all, it is recommended to establish the Sports Insurance Act based on the contents of the Insurance Law and the Sports Law, in order to make up the blank of our sports insurance legal system.Second, set up a multi-level sports club system which includes professional, school and community.Finally, establish a sports insurance system with social sports insurance and commercial sports insurance directed and emphasis on the school sports insurance.This paper provides the basis and ideas for the development of sports insurance in China by establishing professional sports insurance companies, designing sports insurance products, applying actuarial science technology, opening potential claims database, improving the insurance company claims practice ability as well as citizens' insurance knowledge level.
