Research on the Features and Enlightenments of the International Development of Sport Science from the Perspective of Academic Journals

Academic journals are closely related to the development of disciplines in the dual dimension of disciplinary institution and knowledge. Using the methods of literature review and logic, this paper investigates the information of the journal quantity, infl uencing factors, journal name, publishing country and language which related to the sport science journals in SCI/SSCI. Based on it, this paper differentiates and analyzes the international development features of Sport Science. The result shows that 1) Sport science has obvious natural science research tendency, and the development of sub-disciplines is very uneven. 2) The international recognition level of Sport Science in the field of scientific research is low, the unified disciplinary name has not been established, the fl agship journal is missing. 3) Sports training and physical education, two major domestic sports branch of the discipline are in the low level of recognition in the international sports research;4) Europe and the United States are the centers of sports science research. In addition, based on the understanding of the features of international development of sport science, this paper discusses and analyzes the problems existing in the development of sport science in China from three aspects:Natural science research guide, the refl ection on the cultivation of doctoral students in physical education and sports training, and the tendency of thematic published academic journals.
