Abstract
The collection and annotation of ancient sources help to deepen the research of sports history.Based on the key words of athletics, public festivals and amusement play, it is possible to explore the sports-relevant sources of Codex Justinianus.In C.J.3, 12, C.J.10, 54 (53) , C.J.11, 41 (40) , C.J.11, 42 (41) , C.J.11, 44 (43) , C.J.11, 45 (44) , it is found that the rules concern the prohibition of sports games in Christian days, duty-free of certain athletes, the abolish of gladiators and other sports administrative regulation, which shows an orderly and renewed sports governance model and the good-will of governors towards sports at that time.
