Analysis of Reasons for the Breakthrough and Performance of Chinese Track and Field in the International Competition after LIU Xiang Era

LIU Xiang is the landmark figures in the Chinese track and field and even Chinese sports, and made brilliant achievements with national pride. “After LIU Xiang era”, Chinese track and field performance in the international competition has not regressed but improved, even make full achievement and historic breakthrough. In 2015 Beijing Athletic World Championships and 2016 Rio Olympic Games and 2017 London Athletic World Championships, the overall strength steadily improved, the advantages sports continue to be maintained, the potential advantage sports continue to break through, the spirit of the team is a new look. By using the methods of literature review, mathematical statistics, logical analysis and others, this paper makes statistics on the overall competitive performance of all athletes in recent sessions of international athletic competition, analyzes the competitive level and competitive features of Chinese track and field team in the recent international athletic competitions, and makes a depth analysis about the causes of Chinese track and field team making a historical breakthrough in recent international competition. The research results show that 1) top-level design and overall planning of 1516 breakthrough action plan;2) the reform and innovation of internal management system and incentive mechanism;3) update training concept and training with international view;4) the rational regression and the influence of high level competition;5) reserve personnel training system and effective construction of echelon;6) careful deployment of preparations and detailed work arrangements, and collaboration with research team and medical team and Anti-doping work are all the important reasons of Chinese team made a historical breakthrough in the international athletic competition.
