    Using the Reform and Opening-up in the New Era to Lead the Construction of Sports Powerful Country

    • This article comes from the speech at the theoretical seminar in commemorate of the 40 th anniversary of the reform and opening up held by General Administration of Sport of China. The article systematically summarizes the sports achievements of China in the past 40 years and comprehensively analyzes the prominent problems in the process of building a sports powerful country, as well as the ideas and suggestions to solve them. The article holds the views that the rapid development of China Sport in the past 40 years benefited from the reform and opening up and Chinese sport must continue to be guided by the reform and opening up in the new era. At present, the outstanding problems in the process of the construction of sport powerful country include lack of motivation, insufficient resources, ineffective mechanisms, weak talent support and weak technology-driven. To solve these problems, we must adhere to the reform and opening-up policy, persist in the concept of innovative and creative development, strengthen strategic research, attach importance to the top-level design, innovate sports development mode, reform and improve the whole national system, repair the shortcomings in sports organization, sports socialization and sports industrialization, promote the scientific and technological revolution in sports field, implement the strategy of “Revitalizing Sports with Talents”, and strengthen the humanistic mission of sports development.
