    Research on the Practice of UK Elite Sports Governance under the “National Presence”

    • “National Presence” is one of the important reasons for the changes in the development pattern of international elite sports. In the recent Olympic Games, the leap-forward development of British elite sports has benefited from the governance reform and policy support of the British government. This paper first defines the related concepts of elite sports “National Presence”, and then sorts out the historical evolution of the “National Presence” of British elite sports governance after World War II, and then analyzes the practice of British elite sports governance under the “National Presence”, including: multi-dimensional behavior consistency of elite sports governance subject; two-way reinforcement of elite sports resource input goals and evaluation; supporting for the operation of “World Class Programme” (WCP) and setting up the “Athletic Performance Award” (APA) ; encouraging citizens and stakeholders to participate in elite sports decisions consult and play a role. Finally, combined with the development of elite sports in China in the new era, this paper proposes the relevant enlightenment on the governance of elite sports in China.
