Sports Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics in the Forty Years of Reform and Opening up:History,Experience and Theoretical Reflection——From the Perspectives of the History View, the Overall Situation View and the China’s Role

From the three perspectives of“historical, overall, role”, the research systematically combed and theoretically reflected China's sports diplomacy during the past 40 years of reform and opening up. At the same time, it analyzed the basic principles of sports diplomacy, including its content, judgment, and classification. The study believes that China's sports diplomacy has experienced four historical periods: The“Olympic diplomacy”period, the“home game”three-dimensional diplomacy period, the public diplomacy period and the“all-round lead”period, and has formed sports diplomatic practice with Chinese characteristics and characteristics of the time. Achievements include: Sports diplomacy defends the country's fundamental interests, establishes an international image, enhances its international status, and reflects China's peaceful development thinking; sports diplomacy is an important path and method for China to integrate into the process of globalization, and it is an important strategic resource in China's overall diplomacy in the new era. The accumulated experience is: 1) safeguarding national interests and serving the national diplomatic strategy; 2) taking the road of sports diplomacy with Chinese characteristics; 3) emancipating the mind and being brave in innovation; 4) highlighting the peaceful thought and value of sports. At present, we need to promote sports diplomacy in four aspects: 1) to promote China's sports diplomacy strategy from the height of the national development strategy; 2) to explore the reform of the sports diplomacy operating mechanism from a comprehensive deepening reform strategic mission; 3) to establish folk sports diplomacy from the perspective of social governance management mechanism; 4) constructing a theoretical system of sports diplomacy with Chinese characteristics.
