    Mission,Opportunity and Challenge:Reflection on the International Communications of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games

    • Associated with China's national discourse construction and the Olympic value embedded in Olympic Agenda 2020, the study analyzes the opportunities and challenges that Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games will encounter in its international communications within the frame of international public opinion and progressive media technology. The study concluded that since the COVID-19 pandemic strengthens the trend of anti-globalization, China faces even more complexed international opinion environment, but peace and development remain global development themes. Beijing 2022 could work as the testing field of China's innovative global discourse. The mission of Beijing 2022's international communications is to promote the Olympic spirit of“respect, friendship, dialogue, tolerance, fair-play, solidarity and peace”. The Beijing 2022 needs to take the responsibility of spreading out China's development achievement and the practice of self-updating of sports in the modernized governance and Chinese people's hope to live a healthy and happy life. It needs to highlight China's role as the builder of the world peace, the maintainer of the international order and the contributor of the global sports.
