    Strategic Thinking on Promoting Sports Industry to Become a Pillar Industry of the National Economy

    • In-depth research has been conducted on the overall understanding, existing bottlenecks and specific paths of sports industry to be a pillar industry of national economy. According to the research, sports industry has obvious characteristics of pillar industries, including scale growth space, high elasticity of industrial demand, strong industrial relevance and employment-led capacity, is a typical“new economy”and“soft industry”. However, there are still many constraints in the sustainable development of the sports industry, which are mainly reflected in weak level of sports participation, insufficient role of market mechanisms, the development of industrial integration need to be upgraded, the sports governance system needs to be improved, weak competitiveness of market players, the low consumption level and lack of sports talents. Finally, based on the new situation, new tasks and new requirements of China's sports industry in the future, the theme and main line of promoting sports industry to become a pillar industry of the national economy are proposed. The study elaborated the implementation paths from five aspects of the modern sports industry system, institutional mechanisms, market players, sports consumption and spatial layout.
