Abstract
In the context of “digital sports”, athlete data processing has become the key for the development of modern sports. The distribution of rights and responsibilities between data subjects and data controllers forms the foundation of athlete data processing.Expanding the rights of data subjects and emphasizing the responsibilities of data controllers are the two basic value orientations of the Civil Code of China and the General Data Protection Regulation. Considering the industrialization and specialization in the field of sports, a more specific construction of athlete data processing should follow the principle of lawfulness, fairness and transparency;the principle of limitation of purpose; the principle of data minimization; the principle of accuracy; the principle of storage limitation; and the principle of integrity and confidentiality, so as to clarify the rights and obligations of athletes and data controllers in athlete data processing, and protect the data rights and interests of athletes.
