    Three Concepts Related to “Physical Literacy” in Chinese Sports Academia

    • At present, there are three concepts related to “Physical Literacy” in Chinese sports academia: Sports Core Makings,Physical Literacy and the Sport and Health Subject Key Competence. This study considers that the Sports Core Makings have a stubborn vitality in keeping with the educational reform and development; Physical Literacy reconstructs the basic structure and cognition of sports in China from the perspective of the world view, the theoretical framework of cognitive theory. Its explanatory power has exceeded our previous understanding of sports, and has subversive significance for the further development of sports academic research. This idea has been put forward by the official national document “Outline for Building a Leading Sports Nation”,which marks the beginning of the practical field of operation. The Sport and Health Subject Key Competence has made a beneficial exploration on how to link up the subject key competence education reform of physical education discipline. Through the education and teaching of physical education and health curriculum, all aspects and links of teaching are implemented, so as to cultivate students' Sport and Health Subject Key Competence. Although the above three concepts are still controversial, they have jointly formed three influential theoretical forces of the current sports reform and sports education reform in China, and their differences and disputes are conducive to forming a new focus of academic debate.
