    Research and Enlightenment of International Physical Education Teacher Educators

    • With the change of educational core demand of China's higher education, higher education is changing from scale expansion to connotative development. As the main force and executor of higher education, physical education teacher educators are attracting more and more attention. By using the software CiteSpace, a visual study of the English literature from 2004—2018 in the Web of Science core collection database was conducted. Results: The most frequently published journal in 2015 was Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy. The country with the highest degree of research center is the United States. The representative scholars are Woods, Richards, Macphail, Haegele, etc. The research focuses on the demographic characteristics, biography and profession, socialization, knowledge and understanding, professional background and role expectation, teaching method and cooperative learning of PE teacher educators. Enlightenment: China should improve the PE teacher educators' the basic education quality to strengthen their professional knowledge and understanding; carry out PE teacher educators' self-research and enhance the sense of their professional identity; establish the professional development community for the PE teacher educators' to provide them with professional background support and establish PE teacher educators' professional standards to promote the socialized development of professions.
