With the development of a new round of technological revolution, data has become an important factor of production, and cultivating a sports data element market has also become an important component of the construction of a sports power. Using literature method, logical analysis and other methods, the study determines the connotation of sports data elements, and explains the opportunities, challenges and countermeasures of China's sports data element market. The study believes that the gradual deepening of the concept of “rule of numbers”, the prominent role of data elements in the sports industry multiplier, the iteration of data algorithm computing power, the digitization of sports demand content, and the preliminary improvement of the sports data industry chain provide important opportunities for cultivating China's sports data element market. It's still facing the difficulties of resource utilization of sports data, low degree of capitalization of sports data and slow progress in capitalization of sports data. To promote the cultivation of China's sports data elements market, at the government level, it needs to strengthen macro encouragement, improve system supply, and build supporting regulation; at the market level, it needs to promote the coupling of supply and demand, improve operational capability, and build trading mechanism; at the social level, it needs to consolidate technical support, build industry support, and give full play to the industry drive.
