Abstract
Reforms in the evaluation of Wushu education hold significant importance in driving improvements in Wushu teaching.Presently, the teaching evaluation system of Wushu set routines encounters several major issues: 1) It predominantly relies on a singular summative evaluation approach, leading to an emphasis on final outcomes at the expense of the learning process; 2) the evaluation primarily revolves around routines, potentially sidelining the practical application of skills; 3) evaluation criteria excessively depend on competitive rules, potentially prioritizing form over substance. Based on Wushu education goals and the actual societal demands for Wushu talents, a new Wushu set routines teaching evaluation system is established, emphasizing “theory, practice, application, choreography, and instruction” in Wushu set routines. In the future, exploring evaluation reforms in the “practice” and “application” aspects can facilitate a shift from surface to in-depth Wushu set routine instruction, while reforms in “choreography” and “instruction” can enhance the relevance of Wushu set routine instruction to societal needs.
