    • Health promotion has become a global public health priority. To meet the international demand for health promotion, the concept of the Sports Club for Health(SCforH) has emerged. This concept aims to enhance public health by emphasizing the value of health promotion within sports clubs and implementing corresponding policies and activities. Through a systematic review and analysis of the origin and development of SCforH, several advantages of this concept have been identified: 1) it offers high flexibility, allowing for adjustment and application by integrating the advantages of different countries and sports clubs, thus optimizing the overall operation of local sports clubs; 2) it effectively promotes sports participation among different age groups, thereby achieving the goal of health promotion. By analyzing the origin and development of SCforH and drawing lessons from its success, the following suggestions are proposed in the context of China: 1) Enhance the universality of sports clubs in China;2) emphasize top-level design and implement targeted guidelines and policies; 3) foster collaboration and cooperation between sports organizations and various industries; 4) conduct research on the SCforH concept and promote localized studies in China, encouraging scholars to invest in research related to health promotion in sports clubs.
