Theoretical Exposition, Real Challenges, and Implementation Paths of High-Quality Development of Sports Consumption in China

Building upon the new development philosophy leading the high-quality economic growth, this study provides a theoretical exposition of high-quality development in sports consumption, focusing on the aspects of “concept-content-value”. It identifies the real issues in achieving high-quality development in sports consumption in China, including a relatively low per capita sports consumption level, an imbalance in consumption structure, significant disparities in urban-rural and regional sports consumption development, weak interaction between sports consumption and the sports industry, and a limited capacity of sports consumption to generate economic, social, and ecological benefits. To address these issues, the study proposes several strategies.These include promoting innovative, coordinated, environmentally friendly, open, and inclusive development of sports consumption,as well as implementing the principles of high-quality development in sports consumption. The paper also emphasizes the need to enhance the synergy of sports consumption at micro, meso, and macro levels and enrich the content of high-quality development in sports consumption. Additionally, it underscores the importance of fostering comprehensive, balanced, and equitable development of sports consumption to achieve the value of high-quality development in sports consumption.
