Legal Research on the High-Quality Development of Sports Consumption from the Perspective of Sports Law

The newly revised Sports Law of the People’s Republic of China（the Sports Law） incorporates sports consumption for the first time, underscoring the significance of legal frameworks in the development of sports consumption and laying a solid legal foundation for its high-quality growth. The Sports Law, through newly added legal provisions, shapes sports consumption with a legal structure, offering strategic guidance and multidimensional legal protection. However, the sports consumption market still faces several legal challenges across key sectors, such as sports equipment, fitness and leisure services, and sports events. These challenges include issues like sports equipment quality, prepayment concerns in fitness services, and safety risks at sports events.The study posits that to address the diversified, complex, and overlapping legal issues in sports consumption, the Sports Law should act as the leading framework. This calls for the refinement of related laws and regulations and the strengthening of legal protection,implementation, supervision, and evaluation systems for sports consumption. Based on consumer demands, efforts should be intensified to resolve pressing and emerging problems in the sports consumption market. Innovation should be harnessed as a driver to provide legal safeguards for the development of new quality sports productive forces. Additionally, efforts to build a professional legal workforce should be reinforced, cultivating interdisciplinary talent adept at navigating modern sports law.
